THE STORY
Wolf is a drama-edy love story between an Indian American woman and a Pakistani American man who revisit a relationship that ended due to late on-set schizophrenia. Our film aims to challenge stereotypes of minority communities and explores mental health, love, and loss from a fresh, humorous perspective. Our goal is to change under-representation in mainstreaming story-telling, no longer affirming the truth that healing through depection is reserved soley for a privilged race, sex, or finacial status-- using our world’s greatest teacher, guide, and healer- Film. It’s challenging to diagnose mental health and it’s rarely approached with gravitas equal to other illnesses. Mental health has become this elusive stigma in our society. Often people are seen as a diagnose, rather than a human, with an experience. True love allows us to view someone with mental illness with humanness- often allowing us to go even further, asking- who’s job is it really to declare what is “crazy” vs non-traditional?
